Diploma in Intellectual Property (DIP)

Diploma in Commerce and Technology (DCT)

The Law Center's  Diploma in Intellectual Property (DIP) program was the first of its kind in the United States to provide legal training in intellectual property for managers as well as lawyers. Pierce Law has now expanded the program to include a Diploma in Commerce and Technology (DCT). Like the Master degree, the Diploma is an interdisciplinary program  designed to meet the needs of working professionals for a career in intellectual property or commerce and technology. The Diploma program incorporates the same course work as the Master degree, but is designed for students who cannot afford the time or money to attend the one year Master program. The program enroll lawyers, law students, business executives, patent and trademark practitioners, administrators and technology managers and focuses on the acquisition of both substantive knowledge and practical skills through innovative academic course work.

Students may begin the Diploma program in the fall or spring semester. To earn a Diploma (certificate) a student must complete a minimum of 15 credits of academic coursework in one semester. Check here for Cost of Attendance.

The two required courses for the Diploma in Intellectual Property are Graduate Programs Skills I and Introduction to American Legal Systems.

The three required courses for the Diploma in Commerce and Technology are Graduate Programs Skills 1, Introduction to American Legal Systems, and E-Commerce and the Law.
