Spotlight On: Mary W. S. Wong

Mary W. S. Wong, Professor of Law and Chair, IP Programs specializes in intellectual property and information technology.

A sought-after speaker on copyright issues and digital technology, Professor Mary W. S. Wong teaches Pierce Law's foundational Copyright Law course and Current Issues in Information Technology and Intellectual Property.  She is an advisor to the Student Intellectual Property Law Association (SIPLA). She is a Councillor to the Generic Names Supporting Organizations at ICANN.

The legal and policy challenges presented by digital technology and the Internet are the focus of Wong's academic work. Her current research explores the use of copyright laws and licensing mechanisms to control access to digital content, comparative copyright laws on third party liability, and electronic privacy issues.
