Spotlight On: Ann M. McCrackin
Professor of Law Ann McCrackin joined the intellectual property faculty in the fall of 2006, responsible for teaching Patent Practice I and II, skills-based courses focusing on the art of patent drafting and prosecution.
A registered patent attorney, McCrackin spent ten years in privat practice with the Minneapolis, MN, firm of Schwegman, Lundberg, Woessner. Her practice focused on patent protection for computer architecture, software, and business methods.
McCrackin is co-editor and contributing author for Electronic and Software Patents: Law and Practice, a treatise published by BNA Books, and co-author of the Association of University Technology Manager's Technology Transfer Practice Manual. McCrackin is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association and Licensing Executives Society, and in 2002 she was named a "rising star" by Minnesota Law & Politics magazine.
She is a 1997 graduate of Pierce Law and earned a BS degree in speech communication with a minor in computer science and English with a technical writing emphasis from Iowa State University.
