Admission & Financial Aid | Graduate programs application

Admitted graduate students

Welcome Admitted Students!

We are very happy you have decided to join us! Here you will find the important deadlines and procedures you must follow to secure your seat in the next entering class of graduate students.

Our student-created Survival Guide will come in handy as you make your move to Concord. Please keep us current on your e-mail and mailing address.

Seat Deposit

$500 non-refundable seat deposit is required.

To secure your seat in the fall or spring entering class, you are required to pay a deposit of $500. While your seat deposit is nonrefundable, it will be applied toward your tuition when you enroll. Payment must be made in U.S. dollars. Forms of payment accepted are bank checks, money orders, personal checks (drawn from a U.S. bank), and credit cards (American Express, Visa and Mastercard). Your position in the Masters program is not confirmed until your tuition deposit is received.

FAFSA and Pierce Law Financial Aid Application

U.S. citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents are eligible for financial aid. Both the FAFSA and Pierce Law financial aid applications are used to determine your full financial aid package. The FAFSA is available on www.FAFSA.ed.gov after January 1, 2008. Download the Pierce Law Financial Aid Application, then complete and return it to the Financial Aid office.

If you have not received your financial aid award within 2 weeks of completing the FAFSA and Pierce Law Financial Aid Application, please contact Lynn Froleiks.

International Students

Download, complete and return the Financial Supplement Form. The completed FSF must be received by the Graduate Programs Admissions Office with supporting financial documents and your seat deposit of $500 before Pierce Law can issue an I–20.

We advise International Students to allow several months for securing a visa. Completion and timely submission of your FSF is extremely important.

Orientation

Orientation is mandatory for graduate students. All LLM, Masters, and Diploma students choose their classes after meeting with their advisor during orientation.

Housing

Student Services will provide an updated housing list in late fall and late spring. You will need a user name and password to access the housing list; all instructions are posted on the housing website.

Deferment

The Graduate Programs Admissions Committee will consider a Graduate student's  request to defer admission to the following semester or to the same term (spring/fall) the following year,  after the $500 nonrefundable seat deposit has been made and the admitted student has submitted to the Graduate Programs Admission Office a written request to defer admission.

If the Admissions Committee approves the deferment, the student will be required to submit a nonrefundable Deferment Deposit of $500 within 30 days. The Deferment Deposit, along with the Seat Deposit, will be credited toward the student's first year.

Students may elect to defer admission to the following semester or to the same term (spring/fall) the following year. An admitted student can only defer his/her admission, one time.

A deferred student must submit an updated résumé, a letter of Intent to Matriculate, and a revised Financial Supplement form (if applicable) along with current financial documents to the Graduate Programs Admission Office by April 1 (for fall admission) or Sept 1 (for spring admission) of the entering year.
