"Throughout most of my life I have worked in a variety of media. In recent years, I discovered that painting in oils has the most to teach me. I love the smell, feel and consistency of oil paint. I think it is 'moody' because it changes with the light. I believe that oils have the rugged strength that helps define and compliment my style of expression. The light, or absence there of, constantly affects the shapes, forms and color. Being so elusive and constantly on the move as I paint, the highlights and shadows appear and disappear." says Donnelly.
Donnelly's work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions at the Art Gallery at the University of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Institute of Art, the Sharon Arts Center and the Heritage Museum in Portsmouth.
For exhibit information, please call Franklin Pierce Law Center, (603) 228-1541. The exhibit is on view on weekdays from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and weekends from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
