Professor Sparrow directs and teaches in the first year Legal Skills program. In this program, students learn how to convey complex legal analysis orally and in writing. To this program, she brings her experience practicing law, directing Pierce Law's Career Services Center, and teaching in many programs. Before joining the Law Center in 1991, she worked as a staff attorney for New Hampshire Legal Assistance, representing very low–income clients, and as an associate with a New Hampshire law firm.

Throughout her career, Professor Sparrow has made presentations and worked on projects for the benefit of the greater legal and law teaching communities. In January, 2004, she won the Inaugural Award for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching Professionalism, sponsored by the American Bar Association and Conference of Chief Justices.

In 2002 she was appointed to the Institute for Law School Teaching's Advisory Committee, and hosted the Institute's annual Summer Teaching Conference. She has made presentations at the American Association of Law Schools' Annual and Midyear Meetings, national and regional conferences and at other law schools. In addition, she is an active member of the Legal Writing Institute, the Association of Legal Writing Directors, and the New England Legal Writing Consortium.

Within the State, she has been active in the New Hampshire Bar, serving on the Pro Bono Board, and on the Continuing Legal Education, the Delivery of Legal Services, and the Quality of Life committees, as well as on the Publication Task Force. She was most recently working with the New Hampshire Supreme Court and Bar in designing the New Hampshire alternative to the traditional bar exam –– the Daniel Webster Scholar program.

Professor Sparrow's scholarship focuses on teaching and learning. She has authored pieces for The Law Teacher and The Second Draft, and co–authored the book The Lawyer as Supervisor, Manager and Motivator.
