Andrew J. Ferrara

Mr. Ferrara began his career with Eli Lilly & Company. In the course of his twenty–year tenure with Lilly, he served in a number of business areas in the United States and Europe including sales and sales management, marketing, and public relations.
During his last four years at Eli Lilly, he held the title of Corporate Director of New Product Planning and Licensing. His line management experience also included the management of pharmaceutical operations, including all aspects of marketing and sales, for both Lilly and Dista in France and a member of the Board of Lilly Industries in the United Kingdom.
In 1982, Mr. Ferrara left Eli Lilly to join Collaborative Research, Inc. He served as Group Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In May, 1984, Mr. Ferrara co–found Polygen Corporation, a computer software company serving the chemical and pharmaceutical research industries. He served as Executive Vice President responsible for business development, sales, and product development at Polygen. As co–founder, he initiated a number of research and licensing agreements with academic institutions and major health care corporations in the United States, Europe and Japan.
In 1987, Mr. Ferrara entered the health care consulting field and in 1993 formed Boston Healthcare Associates. Since founding Boston Healthcare, he has been involved in the development of a number of companies. Presently he serves on the Boards of MGI Pharma and Indevus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., both publicly traded companies, as well as Medisyn Technologies Corporation, and he is a Member of the Corporation of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. In addition, Mr. Ferrara has been a guest lecturer at MIT and Boston College and presented at numerous professional meetings and conferences on reimbursement planning and business development issues.
