Cathy J. Green graduated from Trinity College in 1974 and
Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1977. She began her career as a
public defender, one of three in the state at the time. In1981 she
entered private practice. A partner in Green & Utter, P.A.,
her practice is limited to criminal defense in both federal and state
court. She is past president of the New Hampshire Association of
Criminal Defense Lawyers and serves on the Board of Directors of the
New Hampshire Public Defender Program. She has been recognized in
both The Best Lawyers In America and The National Directory of Criminal
Lawyers. She is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers
and the International Society of Barristers. She was recognized
by the New Hampshire Women's Bar Association as a recipient of the 2001
Marilla Ricker Award and as one of the first 100 women admitted to the
New Hampshire Bar. She received the Donald Dufresne Award for
Outstanding Professionalism from the New Hampshire Bar Association in
2004. She recently served as a commissioner on both the New
Hampshire Supreme Court Commission on the Status of the Profession and
the Citizen's Commission.
